Sony Pictures Acquires Steve Jobs Movie

A biopic about the late Apple mogul, Steve Jobs, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer earlier this week, is in the works. Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to Jobs' only authorized biography by Walter Isaacson, the former CNN chairman and Time Magazine managing editor.

Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan) will produce along with Management 360, the same studio that produced Oscar-nominated The Social Network.

JOHNNY DEPP to play DR. SEUSS

Illumination Entertainment and Infinitum Nihil are teaming up to develop a live-action biopic about the classic children's writer and illustrator, Dr. Seuss (aka Theodor Geisel). Johnny Depp will produce the project and potentially star as the artist.

The role of Dr. Seuss would fit the A-Lister perfectly, seeing as the chameleon actor has already portrayed eccentric real-life artists such as Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie (Finding Neverland) and Hunter S. Thompson (The Rum Diary), as well as a list of odd and colourful characters like Willy Wonka (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and The Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland).

The untitled Dr. Seuss biopic will be distributed by Universal Pictures, who has previously produced other Seuss films, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat.

AARON ECKHART to portray Frankenstein

Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight) has been cast as Adam Frankenstein in I, Frankenstein. The movie is written and is to be directed by Stuart Beattie (Tomorrow, When the War Began) and is an adaption of a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux.

I, Frankenstein is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, Adam, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.

I, Frankenstein is scheduled for a theatrical release in early 2013.

It is believed that the music video will feature a flashback story, with an older Perry looking back on her lost love with regret.

"The One That Got Away" is Perry's sixth single from her 2010 album Teenage Dream. If the song makes it to #1, she will become the first artist in history to have six number one singles from an album.

Lady Gaga movie in the works

Paws up, Little Monsters! American network, Lifetime are reportedly developing a television movie based on the life of Lady Gaga, titled Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story.

The story will cover the "Bad Romance" artist from 16 to 22 years old and is set to be filmed in Toronto. Screenwriter, Norman Snider ("Casino Jack") has already written the script for the film based on Maureen Callahan's 2010 book, Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga, with Ilene Kahn Power producing.

A casting call has already been sent out for an actress to play Stefani Germanotta (Gaga), with the following description:

"[STEFANI GERMANOTTA (LADY GAGA)] is a bright rebellious Catholic school girl who dreams of fame. The story covers her from age 16 to 22. When we first meet her she is a dark haired, offbeat, very talented and intensely ambitious teen. She comes from a Italian/American well off, close knit, Upper West Side NYC family. She never felt she ‘fit in’ with her fellow students in high school and was disappointed when her college experience at NYU didn’t meet her expectations. So, with her parent’s reluctant permission at 19, she drops out and moves downtown to the Lower East Side where the artists are. Independent and strong willed, Stefani learns she must be something more than a talented young girl and to really stand out, she must change. The story covers the ups and downs of her amazing rise and eventually to her transformation to Lady Gaga. We are seeking an actress who can physically resemble Lady Gaga and who can believably span ages 16 to 22. Singing is preferred but not required."

JOHNNY DEPP covers Vanity Fair

With his arms crossed, one of Hollywood's highest-paid actors, Johnny Depp, graces the cover of the November 2011 issue of Vanity Fair. In the magazine, the 48-year-old actor discusses his career, his new film, "The Rum Diary" and makes a surprising revelation that is sure to create some controversy.

On photo shoots: “You just feel like you’re being raped somehow. Raped. The whole thing. It feels like a kind of weird—just weird, man…. Whenever you have a photo shoot or something like that, it’s like—you just feel dumb. It’s just so stupid.”

On taking as many projects as he can: "Basically, if they’re going to pay me the stupid money right now, I’m going to take it. I have to. I mean, it’s not for me. Do you know what I mean? At this point, it’s for my kids. It’s ridiculous, yeah, yeah. But ultimately is it for me? No. No. It’s for the kids."

Adele records James Bond theme

British Pop sensation, Adele, has finished penning the next James Bond theme, according to reports.

After conquering the world with her second album, 21, the 23-year-old Brit is ready to start recording the title track for the upcoming Bond film, Bond 23. The singer joins a long list of artists who have recorded for the iconic movie franchise, including Madonna, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Chris Cornell and more.

Adele will team up with producer Paul Epworth, who has also worked with Florence and the Machine, and Cee Lo Green.

A source has said: "Adele is the obvious choice to record the next Bond theme. The last few songs for the spy movies have hardly set the charts alight. After her success this year film-makers know the song is almost guaranteed to be a huge hit."

Bond 23, directed by Sam Mendes ("American Beauty" and "Revolutionary Road"), stars Daniel Craig, who will reprise his role of James Bond. The film is expected to be released later next year.

Drake makes headlines with "Headlines"

Drake is making headlines again with his suitably titled track "Headlines", the lead single off his sophomore album Take Care.

The video was filmed in his hometown of Toronto, Canada and shows Drake roaming around the city and some of it's most iconic landmarks, like the Toronto Rogers Center, before toasting to his success with his team over a lavish dinner. The video also reflects the ups and downs of fame, and replays clips of the rapper riding up and down an elevator.

Admitting "Headlines" isn't the best off the album, Drake told Billboard's The Juice, "it's really just the song for this moment."

"I always try to put forth a song with a message. A lot of people pick their single by what's the strongest song. I don't really do that. I like to make sure that the content is very relevant to right now," he said, "I want people to party to it but at the same time the fans, the people that care about my career, the people that follow me, will hear a message in it."

Check out the music video above and be sure to pick up Take Care when it drops on Drake's 25th birthday, October 24.

J. Cole: Cole World: The Sideline Story Album Review

J. Cole's name was on everybody's lips when he became the first signee of Jay-Z's Roc Nation label in 2009. After releasing a series of independent mixtapes, the rapper finally released his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story last week (27 September).

Cole World: The Sideline Story is an album that captures and holds your attention from start to finish. Cole proves he's an above average rapper, whose debut album could easily be compared to Kanye West's, as he delivers bold punch lines ("I blow brains, Cobain") and tackles everything from career struggles to unplanned pregnancies.

"It's your time," Jay-Z says to him on the song "Mr. Nice Watch", and it's clear Cole's making the most of it.
