Selena Gomez & The Scene: When The Sun Goes Down Album Review

Selena Gomez has grown up before our eyes. From a child star on Barney & Friends, the 19-year old has proven herself to be a bona-fide pop star. Selena Gomez & The Scene released their third album, When The Sun Goes Down, in June to positive reviews, and have since released two hit singles from the CD ("Who Says" and "Love You Like a Love Song").

The first single from the album, the inspirational and self-loving "Who Says" joined a number of positive and self-empowerment songs and peaked in New Zealand at #15. Pulling out all the stops, a few of music's biggest artists even lent a helping hand to Gomez. Pop Goddess, Britney Spears co-wrote the hot pop melody, "Whiplash", which features Selena channeling an English accent. "That's More Like It", co-penned by Katy Perry, and UK's Pixie Lott collaborates with Gomez on "We Own The Night".

This album delivers non-stop catchy lyrics and feel-good beats, which I am thoroughly impressed with. Gomez has proved she is able to deliver vocally, surpassing her Disney peers, and with no bad song on the album, the tracks are strong, with an adult-theme, while at the same time, staying friendly to her young fan base.

Overall Rating: 4/5

Recommended Tracks: Whiplash, When The Sun Goes Down
